‘Suicide is everybody’s business.
Everyone should feel they have the confidence and skills to play their part in preventing suicides – not just those who work in mental health and/or suicide prevention directly – and take action to prevent suicides within and outside of health settings’
Policy paper: Suicide prevention in England: 5-year cross-sector strategy September 2023
Our training supports organsiations to create mentally healthy work environments that are safer from suicide. We equip people from across organisations with the skills to support a person having thoughts of suicide and develop understanding of the fundamental need for support after suicide within our communities.
PIP Training looks at what an organisation can do to reduce the risk of suicide. We consider policy and guidance, communication and education and what support an organisation has in place for their team along with exploring community support.
Suicide intervention refers to the direct efforts made to prevent someone from attempting to end their life. Any one of us can learn these life saving skills. PIP uses a 4 step approach to a CAREing conversation. Our primary goal at PIP is to reduce suicide and provide hope.
Postvention refers to the actions taken to support those affected by loss of life through suicide or a suicide attempt. PIP training also consider the needs of the supporter who may have brought a person to a place of safety through intervention.
